Golf! That’s right. It’s time for the Rotary Club of Edmond’s annual Golf Tournament. Despite a rather humid start to the week, the course is ready for Edmond Rotarians and their guests to have a great time on Wednesday. And you don’t have to be a golfer to attend!

     This week our meeting will start at 11:30 at Silverhorn Golf Club. Silverhorn is located at 11411 North Kelley Avenue, just south of 122nd Street. Whether you are golfing or not, please plan to attend.

      As you know, the Golf Tournament is our primary annual fundraiser. It’s always a fun time. I hope to see you there.

      Did you know that some trace the game of golf back to the ancient Rome of the first century B.C.? Did you know that, according to the Rules of Golf, golf is defined as “playing a ball with a club from the teeing ground into the hole by a stroke or successive strokes in accordance with the Rules?”

      And, did you know that the underlying principle of golf is fairness? “Play the ball as it lies, play the course as you find it, and if you cannot do either, do what is fair.” That sounds like the 4-Way Test: Of the things we think, say or do: 1) Is it the TRUTH? 2) Is it FAIR to all concerned? 3) Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? 4) Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

      By the way, despite all the talk of conference realignment, there is no truth to the rumor that the Rotary Club of Edmond will be leaving District 5750 for another District….
