While in law school, Vaughn focused her education on entertainment law and business law. Vaughn served as the Student Bar Association President for Oklahoma City University School of Law for the 2006-2007 academic year. At OCU, she received the Loy and Marian Morris Endowed Law Scholarship and the Dean’s Circle Scholarship. She also received a CALI Award for Excellence in Copyright Law. She served on the executive board of the Student Bar Association and was that board's secretary for the academic year 2005-2006. Upon graduation she received the Dean’s Service Award.
In 2006, Vaughn interned for a trail blazing and well-known Beverly Hills, California, entertainment litigation firm. Vaughn's work included entertainment law, complex business litigation, copyright, defamation, media and First Amendment Law. During her internship Vaughn was involved in litigation between the members of the The Beach Boys. While in California, Vaughn studied music publishing and sports law at the Donald E. Biederman Entertainment and Media Law Institute at Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles. In 2008, she worked for the Creative Artists Agency in Los Angeles in the motion picture literary business affairs department, the largest talent agency in the world. Vaughn is a 2009 graduate of Leadership Edmond and a member of the Tenth Circuit Historical Society. She also volunteers for various community activities.
