Powell formerly worked as Political Director for the Oklahoma Public Employees' Association Political Action Committee. While in law school, she was a judicial intern for the Western District of Oklahoma. Powell also was a member of the Department of Justice, Attorney General’s Honors Program and clerked for the Baltimore Immigration Court.
Her civil litigation practice emphasizes business, civil rights, labor and employment law. She works with clients in a variety of areas of employment and labor law, including the Fair Labor Standards Act, civil rights litigation, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission issues, and employment contract disputes. Powell is licensed to practice in Oklahoma, the Northern, Eastern and Western Districts of Oklahoma and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. A representative published opinion includes Gann v. Cline, et al., 519 F.3d 1090 (10th Cir. 2008).
Powell has been listed in Who's Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law and Who’s Who in American Women. Powell speaks on employment law matters and is a member of the Labor and Employment Section of the Oklahoma Bar Association. Powell is a member of the Oklahoma County Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
Powell is a 2005 graduate of Leadership Edmond Class XX. Powell has previously volunteered for Edmond Mobile Meals and was a member of Prevent Blindness’ Flight for Sight Committee. She currently volunteers with Citizens Caring for Children and various other community activities.
